If There is Darkness, There is Light

Let me introduce you to my new elemental faeries, both light and dark respectively

The whole idea began when I sketched a dark faerie, then decided to do another to contrast it. So, a light faerie was created. I then went with an idea of combining both of them in a piece and decided to try it out.

In the process, I had to make sure both the character’s wings were to fit the paper size; so it was a little frustrating at first to get their poses like the position of their hands, how they would hold their staff and where would they stand

In terms of background design, I wanted a more Clamp-isque look to the piece, specifically the border. So I started from the top, and figured I’d try to put wings as part of the border design lol try something creative. The original idea was from ~Elaesis

Oh and the color scheme is colorful hehee; I didn’t want to use back and white shades to emphasize the characters, cuz I don’t think that it would have brought out an even better contrast that my finished work. And I am lazy to fill up the white spaces left in the piece. But I guess I’ve colored enough?
